I don't know why, but every time I come back to France, I feel like I'm coming home. I can't really explain. I still feel very much like a foreigner, and many things still surprise me, but somehow things seems at the same time familiar and different.

This trip was extra special because I got to see old friends in Bordeaux. A friend who now lives in the city, and another a couple that travelled all the way from Paris.

I tried plenty of Canelés, and took a day trip to St-Émilion for vineyards and the original macarons. From there I wandered through Montpellier's lively streets and explored Nîmes with its incredible Roman architecture.

Then came the chaos: we boarded the wrong train to Paris instead of Toulouse. Pretty stressful in the moment, but we had to roll with it. Hopped off in Nîmes to find a place to sleep, then caught an early train the next morning that got delayed three hours due to an accident. Still managed a quick stop at my favorite crepe place in Toulouse before the flight. Sometimes you just have to embrace the unexpected.
