This wasn't exactly a planned trip. Had a Japan trip booked that got cancelled during COVID, got airline credit but endless trouble rebooking anywhere reasonable. Mexico City was almost chosen at random—it was literally the only place I could rebook without paying a fortune. Turned out to be one of the best accidental decisions I've made.
